An Open Letter to my Family, Friends and All Individuals along the Texas Coastline who are experiencing this flooding crisis.

Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: Ex. 14:13

Today we are all in a crisis, and we need Jesus in the worst way.  Even those of us who are on dry land are in crisis because we love you and it pains us deeply to look at what you are going through.  This is a situation in which we who sit in relative safety can do nothing about your physical circumstances, but we who know God are praying fervently for you.  We are crying out to God that His Hand of protection will continue to hold you, that His Grace will protect you and that the Blood of Jesus Christ will sustain you. This unusual storm is causing a slow rising of waters that has the potential for taking your very life.  Our hearts break as we look at this disaster because we know that physically we can do little for you, but we can intercede for you.  Rescue workers are working tirelessly to help you.  We pray that God will direct them and cover them as they put their own lives on the line.

Family, loved ones, fellow Texans, there are some of you who are saved and are trusting Jesus to cover you, and He will do just that.  But family, my fear is greatest for those of you who are not saved.  Some of you  recognize that this set of events could take your lives.  I cry out to God for you that you will have a moment of clarity and wisdom.  I ask you, “Are you crying out to Jesus for salvation?”  I know that your immediate circumstances are attempting to force your physical safety to the top of your list of priorities.  But the salvation of your soul has to be the priority.  Be wise, cover yourself and your family and ask the Lord to save your soul.  It will take sincerity on your part, but if you call on the name of Jesus He will save you.  Romans 10:13 (KJV) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  Eternity is on the other side of this life, and you have to be prepared for the possibility that this set of circumstances is severe enough to thrust you into it.

I know some of you will argue, “I will not get saved just because I’m in this situation.”  That’s the devil talking, and we bind him now.  The Bible says that if you resist him, he will flee from you. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” James 4:7 (KJV).   Just do it!  If you were sitting on your rooftop with the waters rising would you say, I’m not getting in that rescue boat because the people will think I just got in it because I was scared?  No!  You’d get in the boat! You would get your babies and everyone else that you can help to get into the boat of safety. I’m saying to you get saved!  Forget about your pride.  Get saved!  Pray the Sinner’s prayer and get into the spiritual boat of safety.  Repeat these words and mean them with all of your hearts, “Father, forgive me of all of my sins.  Save me, Lord!  If you save my soul, I will live for you for the rest of my life.”  Then say, “Fill me with the Holy Ghost so that I will have the power to live as you require.”  Just do it!  Get into the boat of safety.

And to all who are concerned that encouraging salvation now is taking advantage of men’s fears while they are in crisis, please talk to me later.  For now, can you just help them get into the boat?  Will you share this post in an attempt to get as many saved as possible?  We can believe that somehow God will direct them to it or it to them.  Meanwhile, pray, pray, somebody pray. Psalms46:11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
