Paul before the illness.

Tonight, I have a testimony of a powerful man of God who was delivered from a rare medical condition, dermatomyositis.  He was raised in the Full Gospel Holy Temple Church in Dallas, Texas, where both his father and mother are faithful members.  He met his wife there and has raised a beautiful family.  He is a singer, a church leader, a street preacher, and a Sunday School administrator.  He loves God and lives for him daily.  Yet five years ago, he was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called dermatomyositis, an incurable condition.  The Mayo Clinic has this to say about the condition:

Dermatomyositis (dur-muh-toe-my-uh-SY-tis) is a condition in which inflammation attacks the body’s tissues. It causes muscle weakness and a rash.  It is an autoimmune condition, meaning the immune system attacks the body rather than defending it.  It is a rare condition that can affect both adults and children. In adults, dermatomyositis typically occurs in the late 40s to early 60s. In children, it generally appears between the ages of five and fifteen.  There’s no cure for dermatomyositis, but treatment can improve muscle strength, help muscles work better, and clear the rash.

Paul’s faith was sorely tested when this condition occurred, and he endured it for five years.  I spoke to him on one occasion, before the condition was diagnosed, and his self-assessment was, ” I look like a monster.”  He had to endure the alteration of his facial features that the condition caused, the pain in his body, the threat to his vitality, as well as the damage to his internal organs.  But he held on to God’s hand through it all.  He continued his work and church activities to the best of his ability, and held onto the Word of God, believing that he would be healed of this devastating condition.  Paul has the victory today because God healed his body and restored his health.  Although there is no cure for this condition that is known to man, there is nothing too hard for God, who is indeed a healer.  When God speaks healing into one’s life, it is done!  He tells us in Exodus 15:26-27 (KJV).

Let us read and listen to Paul’s powerful testimony in his own words.

My name is Paul Taylor. Five years ago, I was diagnosed with dermatomyositis, a rare and aggressive autoimmune disease that began tearing my life apart.

It started slowly—shortness of breath while singing, weakness while preaching, a strange swelling in my eyes that no one could explain. Eventually, the doctors figured it out: my immune system was attacking my muscles, my skin, and even my internal organs. I had lesions on my body, trouble swallowing, and pain that made even the softest touch feel like fire.

I was just 40 years old. I had a family, a ministry, and a future. Suddenly, it all felt like it was slipping away.

I went from taking no medicine at all to a wall full of prescriptions: prednisone, immunosuppressants, infusions, and eventually a specific medication for rare autoimmune conditions like mine. At first, I didn’t even want to hear about it. I’ve never liked needles. The idea of injecting myself was terrifying.

But the disease wasn’t giving me much choice.

The first time I was supposed to take the medication, I froze. I wanted to believe it could help, but honestly, I was skeptical and tired of being disappointed. Then something remarkable happened. A nurse—God bless her—took an Uber from Houston all the way to Dallas just to come to my home and show me how to take the shot. Her compassion gave me a bit of strength. She didn’t just teach me; she reassured me. By the end of our time together, I felt confident, but truthfully—I was still scared.

I prayed. A lot.

Then I took the first injection.

To my surprise, something began to shift. Slowly, the pain started to lessen. My body didn’t feel like it was fighting itself quite as hard. I could move a little more. Swallowing became easier. I didn’t feel as weighed down. For the first time in years, I saw a glimmer of healing.

The medication wasn’t a miracle in a bottle—but it was a tool that God used in my journey.

I still clung to the Word of God. “By His stripes, we are healed.” “With man, this is impossible—but with God, all things are possible.” The medicine helped stabilize my body, but it was faith that kept my spirit strong. There came a point where my church went on a three-day fast, and I knew I had to be part of it—even though that meant not taking any of my medication. I asked my doctor, and he advised me against it. But I felt God pulling me to trust Him more than ever before.

So I fasted.
And I prayed.
And I believed.

Day one—I felt stronger than I had in years.

Day two—still no food, no medicine, but I felt energized.
Day three—we gathered for prayer, and the Spirit of God filled the house.

In that moment, God spoke directly to my heart:“Your healing is in your blood work. I’ve healed your body.”

Not long after, the tests confirmed it. My blood work was normal. My inflammation markers were gone. My strength returned. My skin cleared. My lungs were no longer at risk. I could sing, shout, lift my children’s hands, and walk in freedom.

I still don’t like needles.
But I love what God can do—whether it’s through a prayer, a promise, or a prescription.

I thank God for the medication. It was a part of my healing process. It gave my body the support it needed while my faith carried me the rest of the way.

If you’re in the fight of your life—don’t give up. Trust your doctors. Take the medicine. But most of all, believe. God still heals. He still speaks. And He still uses both faith and science to perform His wonders.

I’m Paul Taylor—and I’m living proof.

The battle is won!

What a powerful word from this wonderful man of God.  He has given us the perfect prescription for healing from any condition. The most important thing to know is that healing is the children’s bread, meaning you should first aspire to be a child of God, then ask Him to heal you. Healing is a fundamental provision for His children who seek it with faith and a sincere heart.

The saying “healing is the children’s bread” comes from Matthew 15:21-28 (KJV), where Jesus encounters a Canaanite woman who seeks healing for her demon-possessed daughter. Though this saying is not directly stated in the Bible, it is derived from Jesus’ words about “the children’s bread”, which symbolically represents God’s blessings, including healing.  This passage highlights faith, persistence, and the universality of God’s mercy, showing that healing is for all who believe in Christ.  Before we seek God’s blessings, let’s ensure that our souls are right with Him.

Dear hearts, perhaps since you’ve heard this powerful testimony, you also want to be saved.  You may feel conviction for your life of sin and desire to be set free.   Do you also want to live for God?    The good news is, you can!  God loves you so much that He sent his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for you so that your soul can be saved.

The method for salvation that God put in place is a very simple one.   You simply repent of your sins, invite Jesus to save you, and commit to living for Him.  He is well able to save your soul and keep you if you want to be kept.  Next, ask God for the power of the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues.  You need this power to live the life that He requires.

Repeat the words I provide, or similar ones, and you are saved.  Remember, I can provide the words, but you must give the sincerity.  Say, “Father, forgive me of all my sins.  Save my soul.  If you save me, I will live for you forever.”

Once you have made your commitment to God and you mean it with all your heart, your soul will be immediately translated from the Kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light.  Jesus will come into your heart and let you know that you are saved.

Next, ask God for the infilling of the Holy Ghost.  The Bible says in Luke 11:13 that He will give the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks.

13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Ask for the infilling of the Holy Ghost in this way:  “Father, fill me with the Holy Ghost.”   You will know that you are filled with the Spirit because you will speak in new tongues.  You will receive a prayer language that empowers your spirit to communicate with God and empowers you to live a holy life.

Mark 16:17 says

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Acts 1:8 also tells us that we will receive the power that we need to live the life that God requires when we receive the Holy Ghost.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Persist in prayer until you receive the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking in tongues and the power to live holy.

Once you are saved, you are a new creature in Christ Jesus, and you need to become a part of a body of believers, a church, which will help you in your new walk with the Lord.  Read from the Holy Bible every day and expect the Lord to speak to you from His Word.  I invite you in the US to find one of the 30+ Full Gospel Holy Temple Churches near you.  They are listed on our website, https://www.FGHT.org.

I also invite you to join my church’s YouTube community.  We livestream our services on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sunday mornings and evenings, and would love for you to join us.  We love you and are praying that God will bless you abundantly.  You may also contact me with questions, prayer requests, or simply to discuss the Lord in the comments section of any of the 250 posts on my blog, www.strollingthrougharosegardencalledlife.blog.  May God bless you all.
