When Adam and Eve disobeyed God and committed the first sin, they plunged us all into the muddy sea of sin and destined us to eternal separation from God. (See Genesis 2:16-3:24). God, in His infinite love and mercy, extended grace unto us and developed a plan of salvation which provided a way to obtain deliverance from sin and spiritual death through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. God sent His only begotten Son into this world of sin and, when Jesus died as a sin offering, God “condemned sin in the flesh” (Romans 8:3).
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Jesus became sin and endured the wrath of His father upon sin. He hung, bled and died for our sins so that we could be set free. He rose again so that we could be in right fellowship with God like Him. It is now possible for all men to regain eternal fellowship with our Heavenly Father through repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Because He rose from the dead and lives forevermore, we are able to rise and live forevermore. Today Jesus sits at the right Hand of God, making intercession for us.
“Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” (Romans 8:34).
Those of us who have availed ourselves of God’s sacrifice, are indeed new creatures in Christ Jesus. The old things that we did we no longer do. Things such as smoking, drinking, vaping, clubbing, lying, cheating, cussing, fornicating, stealing, murdering and a myriad of other wrong things we no longer do. We have been set free from the power of sin through the blood of Jesus Christ and the Power of the Holy Ghost.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
In today’s post we have the testimony of a young woman who was not only embroiled in many aspects of sin, she enjoyed the trip. Her intent was to get even more deeply involved in sin through a family member. Little did she know, however, that God had a different direction for her life. The family member that she planned to follow into a deeper level of sin was delivered by the power of Almighty God. And, because he was delivered, he was able to throw the lifeline of salvation to her. I have known this young woman for many years and am able to personally attest to the truth that she is indeed a new creature in Christ Jesus. Let’s read her story, her personal testimony of deliverance.
My Testimony of Deliverance
by LT
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
Good evening family. I would just like to share this testimony with you about how God has truly changed my life. Giving God all the glory, and the honor, I magnify the Lord. I thank God for my overseers, Apostle Herman L. Murray, Jr. and his beautiful wife, Lady Daniele Murray and I honor Pastor Patrick Murray.
I give God the praise, glory, and all the honor for saving me, sanctifying me, and filling me with the gift of the Holy Ghost and with a determined mind to serve him. I didn’t ’t always have this testimony, but I thank God because it was Him that did it.
God delivered me from a very ungodly lifestyle of fornication, drugs, alcohol, lying, stealing, manipulating, and cheating. I tell you I was guilty of them all, but I thank God that He had plans for me. Saints, God sent a witness my way to get me delivered. He sent my family member, Pastor October Thomas, who has since gone on to be with the Lord.
Prior to his salvation, Pastor October had lived a very sinful life which I found exciting. I wanted to run with him because of his lifestyle. When we would have our family gatherings, I couldn’t wait to see him to hear the war stories about where he’d been and what he had done. I wanted to be a part of all of that. But little did I know he had gotten saved. At one particular family gathering I sat still and listened to him. But this time he talked about God and Full Gospel Holy Temple Church. He spoke of how God had saved him and made him a new creature in Christ Jesus.
Years later, God starting dealing with me. I joined a church and stopped doing a lot of stuff. I thought I was good and on my way to Heaven. I called Pastor October one night to share with him that I had joined a church and that I was saved. Little did I know I wasn’t saved the Bible way. By the time he got through with me I said, “I’m not calling him again”. But he said some things that hooked me. I called him again and again and again. I loved how he would walk me through the Word of God, using scripture after scripture. He made it so plain. We would be on the phone for four or five hours, but it felt like about ten minutes. I felt the joy and the love he had when he would talk about Jesus. At first it started like he was fussing at me, but it was what I needed, coming from the streets. (As you know the streets don’t love you). He told me once, “Now don’t go tell your pastor”, but of course I did. And that pastor told me, “You can’t eat from everybody’s table”. I said, “Ok”, but I liked what Pastor October was serving me.
I finally made it to Full Gospel Holy Temple in Dallas, TX and heard a Word like never before. I heard words, preached by the late great Apostle Lobias Murray like, “You’re clean through the Word”, and “Come out from among them and be ye separate said the Lord”. Those words changed my life. I yielded to God and have been a member now for 15 years.
As I look back, I thank God that I can say for real that I am saved, sanctified, Holy Ghost filled, and fire baptized. I know for myself that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature in Christ Jesus. I can say that old things are passed away and behold all things are become new. That scripture, 2 Corinthians 5:17, opened my heart. I believe in my heart that God truly changed my life. My past does not define who I am today and who I belong to. Continue to pray for me and I will certainly be praying for you all.
Everyone who has been saved has a testimony. This young woman’s story is unique to her, but what is your story? Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Has he begun a good work in you? You too can become a new creature in Christ if you will only turn to Him. Repent of your sins, commit your ways unto Him and receive the power of the Holy Ghost. There is so much waiting for those who will only surrender to God. May God bless you is my prayer.
