Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8
This is the year of our Lord and Savior 2016. The world has changed in many ways in the past 50 years. Computers, tablets, smartphones, video games, LED TVs, and even self-driving cars are available. New technology is coming out every day. Google and Wikipedia have made knowledge possible so easily. But this should not be a surprise to those who read the Bible. The Bible prophesied that this would happen. The prophet Daniel in Daniel 12:4 was told:
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
This scripture validates the fact that that the end of time is near. The total of all human knowledge doubles every 90 days, and by 2020 global knowledge is destined to double every 72 days.
In 1965 the average length of life for men was 67 yrs. and 74 yrs. for women. But as of 2015, the average woman lives 82 yrs. and men can live 76 yrs. Because of the increase in knowledge and understanding of how to take care of our bodies, people are living longer in America. On the other hand, death from diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes has gone up between 1990 and 2010. As it turns out, most of these conditions are based on the bad habits that were started when people were young. These habits includes smoking, drinking alcohol, eating poorly and being lazy and inactive. So we know more but are less able to apply that knowledge in a meaningful way when it comes to some diseases. In other words, we have the knowledge, but we lack the wisdom to use the knowledge properly.
In the last 20 yrs. there has been a significant increase in sexually transmitted diseases such as syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and Trichomonas in people between 15 to 49 yrs. of age. In 2009 41 percent of all new HIV infections were found in young people between the ages of 15 and 24. Our young people are clearly at risk of dying from these diseases that could so easily be avoided. This is true not because the information concerning prevention is not available, but because of the lack of wisdom to use that knowledge appropriately.
In spite of all of the advanced knowledge that is flooding the land, as a nation, we are growing less wise every day. We can’t figure out that males need to go to the men’s public restrooms and females need to go to the women’s public restrooms. Fifty years ago if a child did poorly in school, he got in trouble. Today if a child gets a bad grade Mama and Daddy are at the school cussing the teacher out. Where is the wisdom here? We can’t seem to figure out that a child is better off if he has a mother and a father in the home rather than two Dads and two Moms. We can’t seem to figure out that when we took God out of our schools, it ushered the devil in. Our young people are open prey to the devil because parents have not raised them to respect God. The home is the basis of society, yet our homes are in chaos. Divorce is happening at an unbelievable rate. Women can’t even seem to figure out that they don’t have a husband until they are married. Spoiler alert ladies: A fiancé is not a husband! And here is a big spoiler alert #2: Ladies, you don’t have a fiancé until you have a ring and a date. For some people their entire goal in life is to acquire more and more stuff. Mark 8:36-37 states:
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? And what will a man give in exchange for his soul.
There is a plethora of games, toys, and technology available today. Some men and women are exchanging these things for their very souls. They don’t seem to realize that they are spending all of their time and energy trying to acquire stuff that is temporal. What about their eternal soul? They are so caught up in the things of this world that they forget that they are going to die and leave all of this stuff. Spoiler alert #3: When you die you are going to leave it all behind. Who is going to get that 60” inch TV? Who is going to get your $500 red-bottomed shoes or your maxed out low-rider car? Who will have all of the things that you’ve acquired but had to leave behind when you die? And what about your kids? You’ve allowed the TV and internet to raise your kids so you’ve lost them. You’ve spent your time trying to work two and three jobs so they can have the most expensive toys and $400 virgin Remy hair, yet you don’t love your kids enough to take them to church. The devil has taken over the schools so there is no safety there for them. And you have not provided them with any spiritual background or support, so when the world presents itself to them they bow to the world’s system. They never see you pray, read your Bible or study the Word. All they hear is you cussing the Baby Daddy out or all they see is you drinking or getting high. Are their souls worth anything to you? And what about you? You know you are not here on earth to stay. The Bible says that it is appointed unto men once to die and after that the judgment. You have a responsibility for your own soul to be saved. Nobody can do that but you. Nobody can repent for you. Your Mother and Father may be in heaven waiting for you, but at the rate that you are going, you will disappoint them. Here’s the final spoiler alert: If you don’t get right with God, your soul is going to hell.
Yes, things are changing so very fast,, and knowledge is greatly increasing every day. That just shows us that Jesus is soon to come. The Rapture could take place at any minute and then where will you be? Or you may personally die before the Rapture with the same results. Your soul would still wind up in a burning hell. Get right with God while there is blood running warm in your veins.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. The world is ever changing, but Jesus will never change.
