From time to time God will speak to me in a dream that I know is from Him. We all have what I call “cornbread dreams”; those that happen because we ate too much or just because we are human. There are other dreams that, though we know that they are sent from God, we might not have the full interpretation yet. If God sent it, you will get what He means eventually. I will only share those dreams that I clearly understand. There are some dreams that God sends that are made as clear as day because He does the interpretation. Dreams of this nature I will share in this Blog, especially if they have meaning for others as well as myself. Someone needs to know that God is real and that the prophetic ministry is alive and well today. I share my life experiences here because someone needs to be told that God is active in the lives of His Saints. Perhaps they too will seek to be saved, sanctified and filled with God’s Holy Spirit so that they can also have a real relationship with Him.
So, here it is, hot off the press: The Dream of Tuesday A.M. October 7, 2014:
I was driving uphill going around a mountain on a very narrow and circular road. There were rocks on the road and the drop off to my left was straight down. One of the brothers at my church (who has recently gone on to be with the Lord) was standing in the vehicle looking at the road ahead through the skylight. Suddenly, the car went into reverse and I was speeding down and around the mountain going backward at a very high speed. In a panicked voice I yelled, “You’re going to get me killed!” A boulder came flying from a higher level, barely missing us. In spite of all of the drama, I never lost control of the vehicle and was able to bring it to a safe place. The brother in the dream calmly stated, “Don’t worry; you’re not going to be killed.”
At that point I woke up feeling that going down the mountain backwards at such a high speed meant that I had lost ground with God and was actually backsliding. Then God spoke to me in a comforting voice and said the following:
No, the dream did not mean that you are backsliding or going backwards. Those thoughts were planted by your enemy, the devil. Often, when I am actually taking you higher, you may feel that the opposite is happening. The person standing in your car was Jesus and He is with you at all times. The road that you have traveled with Him over the years has been winding and treacherous, but He has been there all the time. Remember the dream that I gave you years ago in which you were inside a cave walking up narrow and very steep steps? There was water pouring down on the steps, making them even more treacherous. But Jesus was just ahead of you, walking the same steps. He told you to follow Him and He would lead you to safety. As you placed your feet on the same spot where He had just waked, you were safe. As you followed Him you grew in confidence and faith. In this current dream notice that you were driving a vehicle but Jesus was right there. In this new technological age Jesus is still there. Also notice that in the dream as you were speeding backwards, you never lost control of the vehicle. The skill that you used amazed you because you never realized that, even going backwards without looking, you were a skillful driver. As long as Jesus is on board you will not falter or fail. The way up is down…on your knees. Be not afraid because Jesus is still at your side; He is in full control. Trust what He has taught you over the years and you will never fail. You will accomplish all that has been ordained for your life.
I immediately came to the computer to write the experience to share with you. Jesus is soon to come and I invite and encourage everyone to get saved before it is too late. Jesus willingly gave up his life in obedience to His Father, so that man might be saved. Dreams are but one of the means that God uses to communicate with us. God wants to speak to us but we have to be able to hear His voice. Christians are still here on earth because God wants us to continually present Him and Jesus to the world. The Holy Spirit will help us if we are willing vessels. The bottom line concerning what we are to do is to get souls saved and into the Kingdom of God.
The pathway to salvation is easy, because Jesus has already done the hard work. When an individual comes to God for salvation through Jesus Christ, that person must acknowledge that he is a sinner, must be sincerely sorry for the sins that he has committed, be willing to give up his sinful lifestyle and live God’s way. Every human being who has ever existed, and will exist in the future, is a sinner until he has been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. This includes the wealthy, the movie stars, the self-righteous, the morally good, the poor, those of other faiths, the down and out and everyone else.
After one realizes that he is a sinner and is ready to be saved, he must repent. Repentance is simply asking for forgiveness, turning from sin, and intending to never commit it again. Acts 17:30 shows that everyone must repent of their sins.
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.
If an individual will simply ask for forgiveness, and mean it with his own heart, Jesus will cleanse him from all sin. Jesus promises that if one repents, He will receive that individual and not cast him out. According to John 6:37, the Scripture states:
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
To be saved, or born again, simply requires praying a simple but sincere prayer in obedience to God. When an individual prays the following prayer (or one that uses similar words) and means it with all of his heart, that individual is saved:
“Father, I’m sorry for the sins that I have committed. Forgive me for all of my sins. Save my soul and give me the power to live holy. If you save me, I’ll live for you.”
Anyone who prays this prayer and means it is saved. A person must believe that he is saved, not because of what he feels or thinks, but because the Word of God says he is. When God forgives an individual, that individual must receive that forgiveness and forgive himself. Once an individual has received salvation, he needs the power of the Holy Ghost in order to stay saved. The gift of the Holy Ghost is a second act of grace that follows salvation. Acts 1:8 states the following:
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you. Ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 2:38 informs us that the Holy Ghost is for everyone.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Someone might ask, “Who is the Holy Ghost, and what is his role in our lives?” The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God. He is the third member of the Godhead, along with the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. When we receive the Holy Ghost, we can always depend on Him to lead, guide, protect and comfort us. Jesus was aware when He left earth and ascended to Heaven, that we would require help with living for God. According to John 16:7, Jesus promised to send the Holy Ghost as our comforter:
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
The Holy Ghost was indeed sent to earth to help anyone who would receive Him. The Bible, In Luke 11:9-13, tells us that we must ask for it.
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
If you are already saved and filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, you must grow in Him. Live holy, pray without ceasing, study the Word of God, assemble with other believers regularly, fast as He leads, and build yourself up on the Holy Ghost by speaking in tongues every day. Trust Jesus, love Jesus and live for Him. Our time has come to be used of God. Desire a real relationship with our Heavenly Father and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Awesome read. Thank you for sharing.
