Saints, It’s Praying Time

Saints, God dealt with me very strongly last night (3/11/2020) about this word.  Men and women all over the world are waiting to hear from God.  Although they may not say it in those terms, some are able to recognize or sense that God is speaking in the Coronavirus situation, but many do not understand what He is saying.  We are the people of God, so we must tell them.  Tell them that God loves them, but He is tired of man’s sins.  He wants men and women to know Him, to run to Him and to serve Him.  God is making the fields even whiter than before.  Souls are more open to God than ever because of this crisis.  We must get even busier gathering in the harvest of souls.

Hannah, the mother of Samuel, was so grateful when God gave her a man-child that she prayed a prophetic prayer that resonates loudly in the Word of God, affecting us even until today.  That prayer is found in 1Samuel chapter 2, verses 1-10.  Her prayer gives glory and honor to God and also reveals aspects of His character that sheds light on what we are experiencing in the world today.

First of all, we must recognize who God, our Creator is.  Many people create a “god” in their own minds and choose to serve the one that they created.  They say such things as, “God is not like that.”  “He wouldn’t kill people by the thousands.”  Those who say those things apparently have not read their Bibles.  Though God is a kind and loving Father, He is also a terror!  They should go back and read Numbers 16:32.

And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.

They should ask Saul, who was rejected by God because of his disobedience, about God’s character.  Saul’s rejection is recorded in 1 Samuel 15:10-35.   Verses 26-28 address that rejection.

26 And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.

27 And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.

28 And Samuel said unto him, The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.

Hannah’s prayer glorifies and honors God because He moved on her behalf and met her personal need.  But in her prophetic prayer, she described aspects of God’s personality in 1 Samuel 2:6-10 that we must consider.

In verse 6 she states that God kills and makes alive.  She makes it clear that God has power over life and death.

The Lord killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.

Verse 7 tells us that He has the ability to make one poor or rich.  He can bring one down and lift another up.

The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.

God can pick one up out of the dust, lift a beggar up and place him among princes.  He has the power to cause him to inherit the throne of glory.  He chose David, a shepherd’s boy, used him to kill a giant named Goliath, then established his throne forever.  From his lineage came Jesus Christ, our King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  God was able to do this because He is Sovereign and the Creator of the whole world.

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord‘s, and he hath set the world upon them.

Verse 9 is definitely a word of encouragement for God’s people.  We know that if He will keep the feet of the Saints, He will keep the head and the whole body.  We have no need to fear anything that will come upon the land. The wicked or the unregenerate, however, have much to be concerned about.  No manmade strength or power can stand before the forces of God.

He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

For those who are enemies of God, and those who serve gods other than the true and living God, they shall be broken in pieces.  God will thunder upon them from Heaven.  God will then lift up those that He has chosen and anointed.

10 The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the Lord shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.

Now, let’s turn our attention to our current world dilemma, the coronavirus world scourge.   It is amazing that in spite of the fact that the coronavirus is ravaging our world, men refuse to recognize God in this matter.  Are we really so blind as an entire world that we cannot see God’s Hand in this situation?  Germs are raging against men and women everywhere.  The coronavirus (and others) are so small that they are invisible to the natural eye, and yet the entire world is panicking, held captive and its systems are completely disrupted.  Entire countries are shut down and our borders have been closed. Schools are shutting down; working from home is now commonplace; materials are being hoarded that have little to do with the virus, and major events are being canceled.  God is showing Himself to be just who He is, and yet mankind is too blind to see God’s Hand or too spiritually deaf to hear His Voice.

If men and women really recognize that God is speaking, why are they not packing out the churches to hear what He has to say?  Wisdom says when you know its God, run to Him, not from Him.  God is making His round-up, inviting men everywhere to turn to Him, but they cannot see or hear Him because they are spiritually blocked either by Satan or their own self-will.

But, Saints of God, we know God’s voice, we are not blocked by Satan, and we recognize God’s move.  The scriptures plainly tell us what it is that we are to do in 2 Chronicles 7:14.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Saints, we are the people of God.  It is our responsibility to pray for the healing of the land.  We must also get busy inviting, encouraging and praying for the souls of the lost.

Matt. 9:32 says:  He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

Through prayer we can hold back the destruction that is ravaging the land, and, at the same time, gather in the harvest for the Lord.  Pray, pray, somebody pray.
