Introduction

God, the Mighty Healer.  In  2004 God wrought a powerful healing in the life of a young Missionary, CF when He delivered her from a rare medical condition called Neurosarcoidosis.    In her situation she had a direct encounter with God, the Mighty Healer.  Missionary CF gave her heart to the Lord in 1975 and has lived a life of holiness and victory since that time.  God has called her to be a prophetess, and she has been a blessing to many over the years.  Though she has had many afflictions, the Lord has delivered her from them all.

Ps. 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

Definition of Sarcoidosis

This is Mayo Clinic’s overview of the condition, Sarcoidosis https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/sarcoidosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20350358

Sarcoidosis is a disease characterized by the growth of small collections of inflammatory cells (granulomas) in any part of your body — most commonly the lungs and lymph nodes. But it can also affect the eyes, skin, heart, and other organs.

The cause of sarcoidosis is unknown, but experts think it results from the body’s immune system responding to an unknown substance. Some research suggests that infectious agents, chemicals, dust, a potential abnormal reaction to the body’s own proteins (self-proteins) could be responsible for the formation of granulomas in people who are genetically predisposed.

There is no cure for sarcoidosis, but most people do very well with no treatment or only modest treatment. In some cases, sarcoidosis goes away on its own. However, sarcoidosis may last for years and may cause organ damage.

Nervous system. A small number of people with sarcoidosis develop problems related to the central nervous system when granulomas form in the brain and spinal cord. Inflammation in the facial nerves, for example, can cause facial paralysis.

In Missionary CF’s case, sarcoidosis did affect her nervous system, giving her Neurosarcoidosis.

The Testimony

This post today presents Missionary CF’s testimony in her own words.  She is a teacher and writer and adds a hint of humor to what was a very challenging experience.  Let’s review her presentation of the bout with Neurosarcoidosis, a rare and difficult condition that affected her brain.

God Healed Me of Neurosarcoidosis

by Missionary CF

What?!  Brain surgery?!  Not me!  I’m just going to run down this hospital hall to get away from the doctor.  He told the lady in the bed next to me that he would go deeeeep into her brain to correct the problem.  My “Spidey” sense kicked in and said, girl, it is time to run.  My foot started to automatically slide out of the bed covers to the floor.  It seemed that I could somehow become invisible and get away before the neurologist and his team could see me.  I visualized myself running down the hospital halls as fast as I could with my hospital gown blowing in the wind.  “I believe I can fly.”  If I can visualize a thing, then I can do it.  I didn’t know where I was going, but the thought was just RUN! When the Lord spoke to me, I was about to make my invisible getaway.  He said, “You sit there and let them do all that they need to do for you.”  But I digress.

I had just transferred to a new school.  Nearing the Christmas holidays, we had a faculty name pull to see who would be picked to go on a teacher conference trip to Reno, Nevada.  After several pulls, my name was chosen!  I began to prepare myself for the journey.

I was driving to school about a week before the trip was scheduled.  Suddenly, my eyes crossed as I was going.  Sometimes people deliberately make funny faces to make someone laugh.  This was different.  I did not try to cross my eyes, and I could not uncross them.  I went on to work as usual, except I saw thirty-six children instead of the eighteen that I had the day before.  I had them sit down quietly because there were so many of them.  I said nothing to anyone about the eye situation.  As usual, I went to work each day except for the continued 24hr. Eye-crossing.  I was on the way home in heavy traffic and had difficulty driving.  I had to cover one eye as I went to help me see more clearly. I called my daughter and told her what had happened.  I made it home by the grace of God.

It was Friday, and we were to leave for the trip in a couple of hours.  I decided that perhaps I should see a doctor who could give me a pill or something to correct my problem.  I was going on that trip no matter what.  We went to the Urgent Care Clinic.  After several hours they sent me to the emergency room at the hospital.  As I waited for a conference with the doctor, the nurse kept passing by, telling me that my room was ready.  Room!  I was not planning to stay because I had to go on my trip.  My colleagues were waiting for me.  I talked to the doctor several times.  He finally told me that I could lose my eye.  That fact got through to me. Needless to say, I did not make the trip.  It no longer seemed to be the most essential thing in my life.  Several hours later, several talks with the doctor later, several tests, I found myself alone in my hospital bed waiting to talk with the surgeon as he made his rounds.

Now we are in my room, where the Lord intervened and told me not to run away.  The doctor explained that they would go deep into my brain to get to my optic nerve.  I think, “Since the optic nerve is in the back, why can’t he just bore a hole in the back of my head?”  His plans were, he explained, to cut an arc from my forehead around my scalp, to open up my skull.  Wow!  That was very deep.  But since the Lord had told me to allow it, I was at peace.  There was absolutely no fear.  I believed that all would be well.  On the day of the surgery, I remember lying with my head turned to the left.  As I was drifting off to sleep, I heard the doctor say that they would shave my head.  Shave my head!  Oh, no, no, no. I had just had my hair done for the trip.  That would ruin my hairdo if he sha-v-e-d…

Some hours later, I woke all bandaged up, alive and at peace.  God brought me through it all.  I look back and imagine how God winked at my ignorance.  Despite my protests, look how God provided for me.  I learned that Sarcoidosis had grown inside my brain and pressed against my optic nerve.  I had a bump on my chin, my face, and one on my ear. I just thought it was a rash.

I had been ministering  and singing at my church.  But when the disease flared up, I could only speak above a whisper.  I even went to a Speech Therapist to help with my speech.  I bought a microphone so that my students could hear me speak.  I had no idea this was all connected to Sarcoidosis.  So, when God told me to sit still and let the doctor do all that he needed to do for me, he took care of all of the problems at one time.  Praise be to God.  God healed me of Sarcoidosis in the brain.  My vision cleared, my voice cleared, and the facial bumps recovered as well.

Oh, and the hair situation, He replaced that too.  I wore a wig for a long time, taking pictures as my hair began to grow.  I asked my pastor to pray for my hair that it would grow and it grew so full and long that my pastor thought I had gotten long extensions.  I let him touch it to see that there was nothing sewn in.  I reminded him that he prayed for my hair, and God answered.

God has brought me through many illnesses that should have taken me from Earth.  I learned that we will not leave this world until it is time.  God is in control of all time.  When we have the Lord in our lives, He can and will take us through whatever problems that may come.  God constantly reminds me when I find myself in a situation that I cannot handle, “I am your source.”  God saved me through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, my Lord, and Savior.  When I repented of my sins my relationship with the Father.  He alone can give us the peace that we need to endure whatever the trial.

God spoke to me.

God is a good God, and we are so grateful to Him for His healing power.  In my Sunday School class, one of my students said, “Let’s ask God to show us a miracle of healing today.”  We joined together in prayer and asked God to do just that.  When I walked into the sanctuary for the Morning Worship service, God showed me one of his outstanding miracles, our Minister of Music, who had been diagnosed with throat cancer but was still singing and giving Him praise after decades.  God then said to me that we are to give Him praise, honor, and glory for what He has already done.  Today’s post is a presentation that glorifies Him for what He has already done.

God promised in His Word to heal us

Ex. 15:26:   And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.

Thank You, Father, for You are a Mighty Healer.
